GUILHERME SANTOS

Before the packed court, there is the empty one. Gui Santos grew up there – the son of two professional basketball players, in Brasília. He made his professional debut at 16 with Minas. Won gold at the South American U17 Championship, scoring 27 points in the final against Argentina. He learned early that the game is the only part people see.

Being the 55th pick in a draft isn’t a promise. It’s an invitation to prove yourself. Selected by the Golden State Warriors in 2022, Gui spent his entire first season in the G League. He skipped no steps. He climbed every one. From the 55th pick to becoming an important part of the roster – a transformation his own coach, Steve Kerr, has made a point of recognizing.
